There are several things that are pretty much guaranteed to happen every year in The Bachelor finale: there will be tears, someone will get their heart broken and the leading man will pull out a ring (except of course, the Honey Badger – but let’s just leave him in the rear-view mirror where he rightfully belongs).

While the ring may not be not always be an engagement ring – it’s been dubbed a “commitment” or “memory” ring in the past – the sparkler will always stand out.
This year, we spoke to Larsen Senior Jeweller, Nicole Donaghy, who shared details about the Larsen Jewellery ring Locky Gilbert gifted his chosen winner Irena Srbinovska.
Estimated to be worth around $30,000, this “promise” ring has a number of exquisite details.
“The custom-made ring is set with a striking 6.14ct pear shape purple Tanzanite gemstone accentuated by two marquise diamonds and two pear cut diamonds,” Nicole explained.
“The setting is shaped in the form of a shell, which was an important detail to Locky.”
While many Bachelor fans believe the design of the ring happens behind the scenes without Locky knowing a thing, there was actually consultation between Locky and Nicole.
“Locky was fully involved in the ring design process. He was very thoughtful in wanting to design a ring that was meaningful,” Nicole revealed.
“I showed Locky a variety of designs and precious stones and we spoke about the ring being modern and stylish. Locky was particularly taken by the rarity of the colours and shapes of the gemstones.”
She added: “His final selection was carefully considered. I drew a sketch for Locky so he could see exactly what the final product would look like. Our jewellers listened to all of Locky’s input, and used their expertise and skills to take this ring design to an exceptional level.”
After one of the most unique seasons of The Bachelor in history, Locky made his final decision last night, choosing Irena over her love rival Bella Varelis in dramatic scenes.
