Mark your calendars, as the sure-to-be-a-hit Devil Wears Prada musical is set to debut next year in the US, premiering at the James M. Nederlander Theatre in Chicago on July 14 and will run until August 17, 2020.
While its next stop is most likely to be Broadway, we can keep our fingers crossed that the show will make its way to an Australian theatre at a later date.
The musical (and movie) is based on on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel of the same name.
It charts the work life of Andy, an ambitious young writer in New York City, who after landing a job at a prestigious magazine finds herself trying to survive under her stylish yet terrifying boss, as she’s caught between the dreams she thought she wanted, and the cost of what that reality brings.
There’s no word who will take the roles made famous by Meryl Streep – who won a Golden Globe for her performance diabolical editor Miranda Priestly in the movie – Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
However the show’s music is by Elton John, so we expect a host of fabulously toe-tapping tunes to sing along to.
