The iconic film The Full Monty premiered with much fanfare in 1997. 21 years later, eight brave Australian celebrities will be taking to the stage to bare all in the Seven Network’s one-off special, The Real Full Monty – in order to raise awareness of men’s health issues and pay homage to the iconic film.
As well as performing, Shane Jacobson will be hosting the TV special alongside Dancing With The Stars alum Todd McKenny, who is also responsible for choreography. Viewers will be taken on a journey as these men begin rehearsals, all the way up to the big reveal on stage. The Real Full Monty shows these brave stars stepping outside of their comfort zones in order to encourage Aussie men to get themselves checked for prostate and testicular cancer.
Without further ado, here are the eight men who will be getting their kit off for a good cause…
Campbell Brown.
The 34-year-old AFL star played for both Hawthorn and Gold Coast before hanging up his boots in 2013.
Brendan “Jonesy” Jones.
Radio presenter Jonesy, 50, – who usually graces your airways in the morning alongside host Amanda Keller – will be baring all.
Matt Cooper.
The 38-year-old former NRL footy player Matt Cooper played his entire career for the St George Illawarra Dragons before retiring in 2013.
Sam Mac.
Sunrise weather reporter Sam Mac, who began his career in radio, is taking the plunge to raise awareness for men’s health.
Jett Kenny.
The son of Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny, 21-year-old Jett follows in his parent’s athletic footsteps by taking part in Ironman competitions.
Kris Smith.
International model Kris Smith, 39, is used to having his shirt off for work but this is a new level! English-born Smith shares his 7-year-old son Ethan with former partner Dannii Minogue.
Brian “BT” Taylor.
Former AFL player and current commentator, Brian “BT” Taylor, 56.
Shane Jacobson.
He burst onto our screens in the film Kenny back in 2006 and he’s since become a constant of the Australian TV industry. The 47-year-old will be pulling double-duty as host and performer.
The Real Full Monty airs Sunday July 29 at 7pm on SEVEN.
