The Voice fans were outraged when Chris Sebastian auditioned for the show, despite his brother Guy being one of the coaches.
And now it’s Guy’s friend Matt Gresham who’s facing the onslaught of favouritism claims, after his close bond with the Choir hitmaker was mentioned during his Blind Audition.

In an interview with WHO, Matt hit back at claims that his friendship gives him an unfair advantage, insisting Guy is always brutally honest.
“I’ve thought about this a lot. Especially with Chris,” Matt said in reference to the backlash.
“Guy’s a very real person and he definitely does not favour anyone and he tells it how it is and that’s what I think has made him so successful, because he’s just straight to the point.”
Matt added that he believed Guy would never let a personal relationship get in the way of making a fair judgement.
“I think people need to know that he has everyone’s best interests at heart and he doesn’t favour anyone,” Matt added.
“But yeah, I definitely can see how it can look like he’s looking after his brother and his friends but I don’t really see him like that because he’s not really that person.”
The singer, who has toured professionally before making his return to music at the Blind Auditions, said Guy’s straight-shooting extends outside The Voice as well.
“Like, I send him songs all the time and he’s like ‘that’s sh-t, I hate that’. He tells you [laughs]. He’ll tell me straight up,” he said.
“I wrote songs for his last record and I probably wrote like five songs and he hated all of them and then I wrote one and he was like, ‘I love that one.’ But he’s not one of those people that… he’s not a sugar-coater, put it that way! It’s kind of annoying, actually.”
The reality TV star even said his Blind Audition was criticised off-stage by Guy, who is used to hearing Matt’s vocals when they were at their peak when he was touring.
“He even told me actually, afterwards, ‘You sang that song pretty good but I thought you could sing it better, you know?’ Just to piss me off [laughs].”
The Voice continues on Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
