What is The Bear about?

Following the sudden death of his older brother, Carmen inherits his family’s run-down Italian sandwich shop, leaving his glamorous career as a Michelin-star restaurant owner behind in order to maintain the family business.
As his newfound sandwich shop and fine dining career are polar opposites in the world of hospitality, we see Carmy grapple with the reality of trading the prestige of running a critically acclaimed restaurant, while also navigating his unresolved pain and family trauma.
