Sorry Gogglebox fans, but you won’t be seeing Angie and Yvie on the show anytime soon, or at all!
According to the latest reports, Foxtel execs are so unhappy with the former Gogglebox stars appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here that they have banned any reviews of them appearing on the show.
“You will not see a review of them on Gogglebox,” Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television Brian Walsh told TV Tonight.
“From a promotional point of view, the issue that upsets Foxtel is the exploitation of the Gogglebox brand to market and sell another program.”
The stars of Gogglebox have somewhat become celebrities themselves, which makes it hard to keep the authenticity of what the show is all about; everyday people watching and commenting on TV shows and the celebs that star in them.
TV Tonight reports that Foxtel prefers to keep their cast members away from the spotlight so the lines aren’t blurred.
Angie and Yvie confirmed they quit Gogglebox at the end of last year, as did Wayne and Tom.
Two new cast members have now joined the show, which returns this week!
